This exhibit, created by Triangle Arts Macon, sponsored by the Sembler Company and with the support of both Macon Magazine and the Macon Arts Alliance, is designed to provide financial opportunities for local artists. Though Sembler is already well known for the support they give their employees, they wanted to expand that support to include creatives and artists in the locations in which they do business. The result is this innovative outdoor exhibit displaying the work of 7 local artists. Masks are not required, since this is an outdoor exhibit, located in the North Macon Shopping Center, just east of 75 in front of the Michael's Art Supplies Store (how appropriate!) These works, which are all 3'X6', will be on display for 2 months at the site, and then sold through an auction held at Triangle Arts Macon in mid-June. Given the size, scale and content, they would be perfect for corporate lobbies, large lofts or outdoor display at your home. You will be able to bid on any of the pieces on the Macon Arts Alliance website (www.maconartsalliance.org) beginning in late April. Auction proceeds will be used to further support the artists themselves, to support artists from all over the area through the Macon Arts Alliance and to continue our building program at Triangle Arts Macon.
The artists are Heidi Clinite, Ric Geyer, Thomas Heald, Erin Hawkins, Kevin Lewis, Rhonda Miller & Johnny Mo.
We will be taking donations at the show on Saturday, or you can contact us directly to provide your support. And you can always give to Macon Arts Alliance on our behalf - just mention us on your check or in your correspondence.
